Paros Park: A peninsula for Ecological, Cultural, Sporting & Recreational activities.

The Ai-Yannis Detis peninsula is located in an authentic Cycladic setting with impressive rock formations, caves, hidden coves, and beaches with crystal clear waters. Throughout the peninsula there are traces of the history of the Aegean: a prehistoric settlement, the post-Byzantine monastery of St. John, 18th century Russian ruins, and traditional shipyards.

The Paros Environmental and Cultural Park is putting into practice a long- term (2009-2015) plan for environmentally friendly projects and activities aimed at showcasing and protecting the natural and cultural riches of the area.

Aiming to function as the nucleus for the development of modern culture and ecology, the park hosts an annual festival from June until October, with music, theatre and dance performances of a high standard as well as sporting and community oriented events.

The Park belongs to the Municipality of Paros, is administered by Paros Park Municipal S.A. and is supported by subsidies and voluntary contributions.
